Haven Granville: - Small at birth, his calves were attractive, easy-fleshing, and grew well. His sons performed very well commercially, especially on Friesian cows and heifers. Daughters were of sound constitution of medium size, milked well and problem free with good temperament . |

Ervie King Kong: - As a calf King Kong outperformed every other calf by a long way. He had super feet and legs and tremendous muscle development and I don’t think to this day I have had another calf who impressed me as he did. He was able to breed large groups of heifers and cows and still maintain his natural condition. His dam was also one of my favourite cows ever and King Kong has produced numerous top daughters for us. He sold as a 5-year-old to Ray & Clive Davies, Westwood Herefords |

Kilnagralta Kevin: - This was a bull who made a tremendous impact on our herd. Used mainly on Haven Granville daughters, he produced rugged, thick, meaty bulls with good colour, markings and hair, which was exactly what our commercial customers wanted. I bought him to introduce the influence of the American bull C L1 Express 3223 ET as I had seen very impressive sons in Jimmy Basson’s herd in South Africa. A big plus with the calves from Kevin was their placid temperament. |

CH 711 Broadway 3B :- This is a bull I saw and admired on my only visit to the Canadian Agribition in 1992. After he was Champion at Calgary the following year I was able to acquire some semen and he has been an enormous success especially with the daughters he has produced for us. Everyone of them milks really well but they all have tight level udders and small straight teats – the problem free type we are striving for. |

GH Simba ET 21E:- This was a bull calf I kept reading about in the Canadian Digest who was taking everything before him at the shows in Canada at the time He was the top selling calf in 1995 making $92,000. Whilst I was at the World Conference at Fort Collins, USA, 1996 I had a chat with his owner, Grant Hirche. My father-in-law went on the post conference tour and managed to view Simba at the ranch and phoned me to say he was the best bull he had seen on the tour. I was fortunate to later buy a semen interest in Simba. I quickly came to the conclusion that probably the best thing behind Simba was his dam and he certainly left us tremendous daughters who are still having an impact on our herd. Without any doubt in my mind though his son Ervie Classic S30 has become a very important sire for us. |

Wenlock Lamtara: - I chose this bull from a group of yearlings I was shown by Richard Milner. His dam was a beautiful, fault free cow from the famous Lady Lynda family. In hind sight I have not used this bull enough as all of his daughters turned out to be good middle sized cows and good producers. |

V295 was my favourite S30 son from our 2002 rear and was used lightly as a yearling on heifers and cows. His dam had perfect udder and teats and was a tremendous producer. He was sold in spring 2005 to James Bloomer as his herd sire for a quite substantial sum. |

V310 is the last bull born from the best breeding daughter of Haven Granville. He is very much like his grand sire in looks and in his good constitution. We have used him mostly on daughters of Simba and Classic S30. The calves are remarkable.
Breeds attractive calves with good colour and markings, average sized with very good growth rates. Highly rated. |

Westwood Uplifter- : This was my 1st choice of the sons of Ervie King Kong at Westwood. Although I never saw his dam I am told she was good in all the departments I demand-feet, legs, udder & teats. I wanted to breed myself a few good daughters from Uplifter to re-introduce the blood of King Kong’s dam. Time will tell. |

B685-Sired by Classic Lad V295, the good bull we sold to James Bloomer, and from a top cow from the Border Roulette family who also produced Classic Lad W465 sold to Robert Parker in 2005 for his beef monitor farm.
B685 is a tall, long, clean, upstanding bull and a top sire prospect. He stands well on good feet and legs, has good testicles and is a good dark colour. Although the photo doesn’t show it he does have white on his neck crest.

Ervie Builder C740 is sired by the good American sire HH Homebuilder 603 who has bred so well in Canada and Australia in particular. His dam, Peach 500098 is a beautiful, dark-coloured, medium sized daughter of Free Town Kudos with very good udder and teat placement. This family is very consistent in type and quality. C740 is an extremely well balanced young bull with lovely smooth fleshing, a good backend, smooth shoulders and stands well on good feet and legs. He has moderate birth weight and we anticipate he will be an easy-calving bull for the heifers. |

Breeder's note: Ervie Classic S30 is the best breeding bull we have used since founding our herd in 1969. He stamps his type on his calves and improves conformation, muscle, growth and style. He is an easy calving sire and is used on heifers. His progeny are in great demand with heifers selling to £5,150 and bulls to £4,000. We also sold over £15,000 semen. |

A552 is a bull with high standards to live up to. His full sister (Ervie Peach W454) achieved the top price in our 2005 Internet Heifer Sale at £5150 and another full sister (Ervie Peach V331) sold privately for £4000. Having said that, I think he is the top sire prospect of the bunch and we already used him selectively over the winter. He is tall and clean with lots of character and style. He is a powerful bull with good colour markings. His dam (Ervie Peach P8) was reserve Champion at Ayr show as a heifer and was embryo flushed this spring.
