Description of cattle enterprise and what role the Hereford sire has and how you rear and market the Hereford offspring. Our cattle enterprise involves keeping replacement heifers from only our best performing cows then selling all other heifers & steers at around 18 months at Hexham. We have been using Angus bulls for around 15 yrs and fancied a change. We still have an Angus bull and needed the Hereford to bull his daughters. The 1st 6 calved in August. 5 were no bother but one huge bull calf had to be pulled out and we lost him. The Hereford is currently with 9 heifers due in August 2015. I expect to sell my 1st Herefords at the end of next year at one of the monthly native sales at Hexham. I will start keeping Black Baldie heifers once my Angus is worn out and get a fresh blood bull. I shall email some photos at some point. |

Have you anything to say as an endorsement for the bulls you’ve had from us?: Hopefully the one calf we had to pull was a one off as he has done well so far on a hard hill farm. |
